Product Feature
Colorless orthorhombic crystal or white amorphous powder. The relative density was 4.50 (15 °C). Melting point 1580 °C. It is almost insoluble in water, ethanol and acid. Soluble in hot concentrated sulfuric acid, easy to agglomerate when drying. Barium sulfide can be reduced by carbon at 600 °C. The application of barium sulfate in paint is better than most other filling powders, with low cohesiveness, low light dispersion, and fine particles. It is especially suitable for pigment topcoats, varnish, and spray paint, with chemical resistance and weather resistance. Its inertness, insolubility in water, acids, alkalis, and other organic intermediates, excellent gloss, and particle fineness make the topcoat maintain long-term exposure. Barium sulfate is recommended for topcoats, which can increase surface hardness and color stability. Barium sulfate has a high filling property, which can be applied to all kinds of coating series, such as primer, thick paste coating, etc. Its low specific surface area, particle size distribution, and easy fluidity make barium sulfate have low wear resistance in the processing. Barium sulfate is recommended to be used for automatic primer surface layers, and even maintains good uniformity and smoothness even at high fillings.
