PBAT has a large market share and is currently the main product of degradable materials to replace traditional plastics, mainly because of its good mechanical properties and lower price and cost compared with other degradable materials. Excellent biodegradability: PBAT can be degraded under conditions of contact with specific microorganisms such as compost and water, and finally decomposed into carbon dioxide and water. It is environmentally friendly and is one of the most active biodegradable materials in the current research of biodegradable plastics and has good market application.

Good mechanical properties: It has the characteristics of both PBA and PBT, with good ductility and elongation at break, good heat resistance and impact resistance, excellent mechanical properties, close to PP and ABS plastics, and can meet the requirements of various packaging applications.

Good processing performance: The processing performance is very similar to that of LDPE. It can be blown with LDPE processing equipment, and can also be processed in various molding processes on existing general plastic processing equipment. It can also be blended with a large amount of fillers such as calcium carbonate and starch to reduce material costs.

Storage conditions

Temperature control: During transportation and storage, the temperature cannot exceed 70℃. At room temperature (23℃), the storage time of unopened bags shall not exceed 12 months.

Packaging seal: For granular materials, under appropriate storage conditions, the shelf life is 12 months from the date of loading. If the bag is partially opened for use, it is recommended to seal it again and use it within 3 months. For the finished film, it is recommended to use it within 6 months.

Processing precautions

Equipment selection: A twin-screw extruder can be used, and the aspect ratio of the film blowing machine should be ≥30.

Machine cleaning: Pre-clean the machine with PBAT at a temperature of 160±10℃.

Material drying: If the package is not damaged, PBAT does not need to be pre-dried; if the package is damaged, it needs to be dried at 65℃ for 4 hours.

Environmental impact

Proper handling: As a biodegradable material, it should be handled in accordance with relevant environmental protection requirements to give full play to its degradable characteristics and avoid random discarding to cause environmental pollution problems similar to traditional plastics.

If the product does not meet the national standard requirements and the relative biodegradability index does not meet the relevant standards, it may pose a threat to soil, crops and animal survival.
